About Hand Reflexology
Hand Reflexology has been in existence for as long as Foot Reflexology, and ancient Egyptians papyrus documents depict medical practitioners treating the hands and feet of their patients in 2,500 BC.
The Egyptians contributed greatly to the development of science and medicine. The doctors were the first physicians to study the human body scientifically, and the medical profession was held in great esteem. Evidence of this can be seen at Saqqara in the tomb of Ankhmahor, a physician who was the most influential official, second only to the king, practising Reflexology.
It is usual to find that the hand reflexes are not as sensitive as those areas on the feet. This is possibly so because hands are constantly in use, whereas the feet are protected by the wearing of socks, stockings and shoes. Hands are also less tender, so the chances of finding any crystal deposits are minimal.
A hand reflexology treatment can be as beneficial as a relaxing foot treatment and can also be given as an effective alternative to treating the feet.
This CPD workshop has been specially designed for qualified Reflexology practitioners to further enhance their skills. You will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of Hand Reflexology sufficiently to enable you to perform treatments confidently and competently.
This will include a comprehensive workshop manual, colour hand chart and certificate of attendance.
About the Course
This is a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course as approved by the Health & Safety ( First Aid ) regulations 1981, and upon successful completion attendees receive a certificate valid for three years. The course is open to anyone requiring this training.
It is recommended for existing or newly qualified complementary therapists who do not hold a recognised certificate in First Aid. Therapists wishing to renew their first aid certificate may also wish to attend.
The course will give you the confidence and first aid skills necessary should you find yourself having to administer first aid during a therapy treatment or while at your place of your work.
Most associations and membership bodies now require their members to have first aid training in order to obtain membership and insurance.
