Course Description
This Award is accepted by the
Federation
of Holistic Therapists and The
Guild for full membership.
This is a home study course with one attended assessment day.
A significant amount of home study and background reading is necessary.
Students should set aside approximately four to five hours per
week to work on home assignments.
A recommended reading list is supplied at the beginning of the
course.
Course Content

new qualification, which is made up of the following unit:
1. Healthy Eating and Wellbeing for the Complementary
Client.

The aim of this unit is to provide the
student with the knowledge and understanding required to provide
general nutrition advice to the complementary therapy client.
Teaching Methods
The educational aims are to develop the in-depth
knowledge and skill required to provide safe and effective treatments.
The following methods are used
for this home study course:
• Individual practical experience
• Detailed Handouts
• Presentation of detailed case studies
• Monitored home assignments
• Continuous assessment by course tutor of the development
of
personal qualities required of a professional practitioner
• Individual tutorial sessions with course tutor
Class Size
This is a home study course
so the student is able to work at their own pace.
Evidence of Achievement
Students will be required to
show achievement of a range of relevant learning outcomes and
assessment criteria, as set by the Vocational Training Charitable
Trust (VTCT).
• One practical assessment
• Presentation of 5 case study treatments for at least 12
consultations
• Portfolio of evidence
There is no final written examination for this course. Students
will prepare, under the guidance of the course tutor, a portfolio
of evidence to demonstrate that they have covered and achieved
all the required learning outcomes.
Qualification Attained
Students will gain the VTCT
Level 3 Award in Healthy Eating and Wellbeing for the Complementary
Client.
Entrance Requirements
Applicants must be 19 years or over. No
formal qualifications are necessary.
Course Dates
This home study course can commence when the
student application is successful. Students may study this course
at their own pace, but it should be completed in no longer than
10 months.
Course Fees
The cost of the course is £425.
In addition, students are required to pay £16
to become a lifetime member of VTCT (this is a one time payment),
and £31 registration fee for the diploma (VTCT) - both amounts
to be paid at enrolment on the first day. These charges may be
subject to change by VTCT.
